VERY rarely does it happen that a little patooti simply doesn't want pictures taken that day. I've seen all sorts of kids, from the easily distracted to the very shy.
This little lady just wasn't in the mood. We waited her out but, she just didn't like those lights or that lady behind the big black round thing. A few pictures are all we could take of this little Valentine right before she becomes a BIG sister...then she'll really know what it will be like to hear crying...AH!

The really neat thing about starting this business has been all of the new people you get the meet. A friend of a friend of a friend and a phone call later landed this little cutie in the studio for her first year portraits. So, I have to laugh after every 2 year shoot. It always seems to go the same: Two year-old comes in. Two year-old seems curious. Two year-old starts to play. Two year-old is unfocused. Two-year old's parent tries to get them to focus. I blow whistles. I fall down. I have a puppet. Two-year old could care less. Two year-old is on a mission not to look at the camera.
NO WORRIES. This is the TYPICAL two year-old shoot. Any vision that you had as a mom of this perfect picture is usually pretty hard to get during this year.
My number 2 prop is the most beat-up of all my numbers! LOL! Gee, I wonder why! TWO is the answer! So much fun, I just chase them around and catch them being themselves! Fun, footloose and fancy-free! Woot Woot, Go TWO!

Yes, I know, I use the word a lot: Patooti. But, I just can't help it! Sometimes, I just look at a babe and think, "Now, isn't that just the cutest little Patooti?" (Hey, it could be worse...)

Anyhoo, look at this little lady! Mom is excited to introduce pink after two blues - what a change! Truly a new little angel to dote on!

I always like to capture the feet and other little parts at a newborn shoot...you'll see, they grow so fast that you won't remember how small those footsies were! Viola!

Dear Angelo, I will miss your little smiles, your "looks at me" out of the corner of your eye, your hugs and kisses but, mostly your flirts...LOL! LOVED watching this little man grow and grow! Every couple of months, he would come in, cuter than ever, and flash me a little flirtatious look. He was always a ham for the camera and full of smiles.

When she told me, I was shocked...another baby? I'm SO excited for you! This babe has a big brother and sister to always keep her company and me to always take their pictures (they have no choice, we're friends now...LOL!) So, I finally got to meet Hayden, on her first offical photo shoot...I had forgotten how small a realistic little newborn actually is (my son's were HUGE!) I cannot believe it, my third little cutie to retire from the CBP Baby Plan! I'm so excited to watch them grow but, so sad to see them leave as I know that I won't get their smiling visits every 3 months.

Okay, I apologize...some of you have complained that I've fallen way back on my blogging and you are getting sick of reading the same ol' same ol' over and over again. I'm sorry!
The fact is, my business tripled this year! YIPPEE! With that, something had to give...and it was the blog.

I've been so busy taking pictures, editing, getting the kids on the bus, making lunches, doing laundry, returning phone calls, making cards, putting up holiday scenes, taking down holiday scenes, taking orders, delivering orders, making breakfast, making dinner, letting the dog out, letting the dog in, covering the dog with a blanket so that she doesn't incessantly whine from being cold, cleaning, decorating, undecorating...OH, you get it! The blog had to take a hit!

With that being said, I think I'm ready to begin again...though, I have missed a WHOLE BUNCH of blogging. If you would like me to blog about your photo session, please let me know! I would be happy to!
Otherwise, I'm going to begin this year, in 2010 and continue on from there; though I can't guarentee that by next September, there may be crickets here again! AH!

So, every year, my friend's daughters have a dance recital. "You should take our pics, it would be great!" Hmmm...sure! It WAS great - the kids and parents were sweet and kind. The school seems like a relaxing and fun place to learn how to express yourself through dance. I had a great time and look forward to taking more dance photos in the future!

Years ago, at my godson's baptism, I saw these adorable little boys and remember commenting to my friend, "Those kids are gorgeous!" So, years later, I get a call from a Mom saying that she wants to take photos of she and her boys for Father's Day as a gift to Daddy. I meet them, take their pics (total cuties) and then later, show my friend the pics. She says, "Those are the boys!" "Whah?" I say. "The boys you thought were gorgeous!"
NO WONDER! I couldn't help but show my friend these pics because these boys, and their mom, are such a breath-takingly beautiful family. So well behaving and handsome, it was a pleasure to photograph them.

I hope Dad liked his Father's Day present!

When he heard that I was starting to take senior portraits, he planned WAY ahead to book a date for our session. If we could just harness his energy, we would have enough to power the country... This little man is always on the go with those chubby cheeks and adoring smile, he is a charmer for sure.

Ah, two year-olds...I've writting on my blog many times about those percocious little people who love to keep ya running. I always try to let parents know that they aren't alone, especially since I have my own 2 year-old to always chase around.

SO, when coming in for your 2 year-old photo shoot:

1.)Stay calm, nothing will go as you envisioned it.
2.) Please realized that I've likely seen it all, no worries!
3.) Watch them have fun and I'll try my best to capture the true joy of being two!
4.) Go home and have a drink. LOL...

If you would like to try again, no problem! A reshoot is always an option! My job is to make sure that you get exactly what you want.

Meantime, enjoy the ride...it all goes so fast. You'll always have these pictures to remember how silly it all was!

Duke is the first pup that has ever gone through the CBP Baby Plan - hysterical! I love photographing this dog...he is simply adorable!

Besides Valentines' Day, it was also time for Duke's 6 months photo shoot. He performed like a champ, well, nothing that a little doggie treat couldn't help with either! We also now know how many little crevices a pup can get into in my studio...who knew?

BIG Baby Boy

Ah...childhood, so many memories. It's the silly things you remember like, who you walked to school with...who was your first crush and who shared your birthday...birthday, I remember who that was! Good 'ol Facebook strikes again with a gal that I went to grammar school with for years. We had a special bond - we had the same birthday and we always remembered that silly fact. So, when I saw that she had a baby, I was so excited for her!

When I met baby Lucas, I had a complete flashback to my first son. He is a BIG BOY and I laughed hysterically when I took this picture...

Last year, I didn't photograph Valentine's Day...it creeped up on me too fast after the Christmas season. This year I thought, let me get it started...so, I did, and am so thankful that some little angels came my way.

This little man is the cutest cupid ever...it simply hurts my heart to look at his pictures! Little Andrew, the second baby in the CBP Baby Plan, came by for a quick Valentine shoot, which of course, mom and I went crazy with. We love to get Andrew to do so many things, mainly because he is too cute not to!

Kayla's Big Beautiful Dress

High school seemed so long ago, but, Facebook always helps to remind me how far we've all come. I am so excited to get messages from old friends saying, "Hi, remember me? Would you take my child's picture?"
To me it means that are they trusting me to capture this very special moment for them, and to that I am honored.

It's also so cool to see an old friend and then see how much their babe looks like them! So adorable! Suc is the case of little Kayla, who was such a joy to photograph.

Her christening dress was just so beautiful - I had to make sure to pan way back to capture the beauty of it all. How truly lovely.

Mom opted for thank you cards as well, which is always easier for busy moms and dads (take a look in the "creations" gallery on the webpage).

Hope to see Kayla and mom again soon! So much fun to photograph!

The "C" Kids

How surreal it is to be walking down the hallways of highschool one day and taking pics of the kids of a girl you saw next to your locker the next. These kids are SO CUTE! Their personalities were hysterical to boot. Of course, big sis was calm and in control while little brother was annoyed that we kept trying to make him smile. Little sister kept telling me, "get the tewkies" or so it sounded. What she really wanted was cookies, which I always let the kids have (as long as mom and dad say it's okay!) once their shoot is done. What a better reward? Great job kids!

Facebook Friends

So, I finally joined Facebook (if you're on it, look up CB Photography!) I never understood the draw to it UNTIL I joined...WOW - friends come out of the woodwork...people I haven't seen or could even remember.

However, I remember Ed. He was in a lot of my classes in high school and was always such a nice guy (and they were truly rare). So, when he gave me a call, after seeing some of my work on Facebook, to tell me that he was getting married, I was so happy for him AND for her! It was so nice to meet his bride-to-be and we got a chance to have a quick photo session before the wedding later that day. It was so nice to see him again and watch their love for one another. Have a wonderful life together!

Baby Boy on the Way!

"Quick, quick...my water is going to break any minute!" AH! I usually tell moms to come in around 32-36 weeks so that their bellies are nice and round. I have to remember that with first-time moms, you never know what will happen. So, we rushed to get her in before anything unexpected happened...though she had plenty of time, it was good to know that they were complete just as her family would be in a few short weeks...Welcome Angelo!

A Present for Mom

I was honored when they asked me to photograph them as a gift for their mom for her birthday. Looking at all the people involved, I don't know how we did it, but, we did! These three siblings wanted to give mom a perfect gift this holiday season, a portrait that they haven't taken together in years. Scrapbooking is another tool that I use to let-out some of my creative energy and create something for my kids to have for years to come. You meet a lot of people on "scrappin'" get-togethers. Beth is one of them...so happy that she asked me to take her family's portrait.
Her family truly reflects what kind of mother she as well as what kind of father she married for her children. So well-rounded, cordial and just plain fun...we had a blast takin' pics and I especially loved trying to make them all laugh...it wasn't that hard! By the end of the shoot, there were giggles galore!

A Chance Meeting at the P.O.

Whew! It's been a long while blogging and I finally feel like the rush of the holiday season has settled-down enough to regain my thoughts! I want to personally thank each and every one of the families and friends that came to see me this holiday season. My business has tripled from last year and I can only suspect that I may be even busier for the 2009 holiday season...this is all thanks to you!

You could have gone to so many other places and yet, you entrusted me with your holiday portraits & cards and I truly appreciate your patronage.

My Poogarella is All Grown Up!

When I was 16, a little angel came into my life...my little cousin Alisa. I babysat her often and we would have long, deep discussions about life. One day, I ask her, what is your name? Being silly, she responded, "Pooga!" Well, ever since that day, I've called her Pooga - Poogarella.

Not a little girl anymore and a true beauty, I wanted to photograph her and see if the visions I had in my head about photographing seniors would transfer onto my screen. It was so odd photographing a teenager...I didn't have to chase her, make silly faces or sounds and she followed my every direction. Odd...I felt strange. LOL.

So Seniors - I'm ready for ya! Show your parents and I hope to see ya soon!

Today was the day! John-John was all decked-out in his naval christening suit and ready for the camera. This baby just makes you chuckle with his happy-go-lucky demeanor. Always ready with a smile, he is a photographer's dream! Keep grinning little man - you have much to be thankful for!How easy it is to create a simply thank you...all you have to do is address the envelopes and Viola! Why overwork yourself, let me do it for you!

Mom couldn't decide what picture she liked best so I created this collage for her. That should solve the problem! LOL!

I had a feeling...Big brother couldn't wait to show me how he could hold and care for her just like mom and dad do. She is such a little cutie with a very agreeable temperment. So, when I got the call from one of my pet moms telling me that she was getting a new "baby," I had NO IDEA that this baby was as small as small could be. At just 5 weeks old, little Duke only weighed one and a half pounds and simply makes your heart hurt just looking at him. IRRESISTABLE! Stay tuned as he grows - more pics to come in October! Okay, so it's been awhile since I posted! Many of you have asked me, "Where are your blogs?!" Well, between the start of my son's first pre-school experience, selling crud on Ebay to de-clutter my home, preparing for holiday shoots, working towards my black-belt, photographing and editing pictures as well as a TON of other stuff, the blogs had to take a back seat for awhile.

Here he is again! 9 Months and getting BIG fast! Even I was amazed to look back and see how much little Noah has grown. A true joy to photograph and so snuggly to cuddle with! The Garden Twins

Here they are - those cutie patooti twins out together in the garden! They always bring such a big smile to my face - not only because they are so opposite but, to watch them interact with each other is just so interesting and at times, hysterical.

My favorite moment from this shoot was when she fed her brother with a spoon and ever-so-gently wiped his lips so as to not have any drips (mind you, this was make-believe food...) Just too cute! Look at that maternal instinct in her eyes...yes, she has a great mommy to thank!

The Pilot

His dreams of becoming a pilot could only be captured on this very special day to commemorate his 5th birthday. This flyman was all smiles and ready to say "take off!" I guess it helped that I've taken his picture before and that his baby brother is one of my best customers! So, he's an old pro!

He is such a little sweety...one day I know we'll see him high up in the sky!

p.s. - if your child has a special interest, please let me know and I'll make sure I have the props to make him / her excited to take pictures with them!

Though I don't normally do event photography, when their scheduled photographer cancelled, I couldn't pass-up the chance to help-out. I also wanted to meet other karate enthusiasts and was curious to see what style they used.

What a great group of people! A very warm and inviting group that truly seemed like one happy karate family. Kingdom Karate has many locations and trains many different age groups. It was their 11th Annual Summer Gala at the Bethwood in Totowa. They put on a hysterical fashion show (the crowd loved it), an exhibition (too cool!), handed out trophies and rewards, and later, took time to take portraits to commemorate the night. It was a true pleasure and lots of fun!

Great group of people - here's to another great year of punches, kicks and blocks!
